KeymasterThis week’s TaxVine preamble is authored by The Tax Institute’s Executive Director, Andrew Mills, CTA (Life), who discusses the economic outlook ahead of next week’s Federal Budget 2022–23.
Andrew guides us through the current economic landscape that will underpin the Budget and explains The Tax Institute’s process on Budget night to provide our members with the information they need to unpack the key measures announced in the Budget.
What are your thoughts on the Federal Budget 2022–23 and the economic outlook? What would you like to see included in this Budget? Join the conversation here.

ParticipantHi there
…Explains The Tax Institute’s process on Budget night to provide our members with the information they need to unpack the key measures announced in the Budget.
Did I miss this because I couldn’t find this in Andrew’s article?
Just wondering what/when TTI will be doing to provide a budget summary to its members?
Thanks
Justin

KeymasterHi Justin,
Please see below the Federal Budget roadmap as set out by the Tax Policy and Advocacy team (TPA). TPA have also been promoting our Budget deliverables, including our two webinars on Wednesday and Thursday in recent emails directly to our members.
Pre-Budget
TPA has been publishing related content for our members and advising our members of what they can expect, through emails, blog posts, infographics, TaxVine Preambles and videos.
During Budget
On Tuesday 29 March 2022, TPA will be producing our Federal Budget Report (including a roughly 2-page high level summary of the key Budget measures and a roughly 10-page comprehensive report that summarises the key measures and what they mean for our members and their clients).
We will also be live tweeting shortly after 7:30pm, and producing content (including videos, and possible interviews and a media release) which we will share selectively with our members, the profession and the community through various email and social media channels.
Post-Budget
On Wednesday 30 March 2022 at 12:30pm-2:00pm AEDT, TPA will host a Reflections Panel online webinar. The TPA team will provide their practical insights and reflections on the key tax and superannuation measures announced as part of the Federal Budget 2022–23 and how the Budget impacts you and your clients. There will be discussion of missed opportunities for measures and reforms that weren’t in the Budget, as well as TTI’s position on the announced measures. The session will include a live facilitated Q&A and will be free for TTI members.
On Thursday 31 March 2022 at 12:30pm-2:00pm AEDT, TPA will host an Analysis and Insights online webinar, where the TPA team will consider and provide their expert explanations, analysis and insights on the key tax and superannuation measures announced as part of the Federal Budget 2022–23. This session will also include a live facilitated Q&A and will be free for TTI members.
A comprehensive slide pack will be provided before the Analysis and Insights webinar. This will be accompanied by another report, Federal Budget Report: Analysis and Insights, which will include a detailed analysis and provide insights on the Budget measures, take a deep dive into the Budget measures and provide other useful content.
Kind regards,
Zoe

ParticipantHey Zoe
When do you think the materials will be released?
Re the Panel, although the representatives have v impressive resumes – I found the intro be rather long winded.
Thanks

ModeratorHi Justin
There were no slides for today’s webinar (Part 1) as it was a discussion panel. There will be comprehensive slides and a detailed Analysis and Insights Report available for tomorrow’s webinar (Part 2) but these are still being finalised and will be available shortly before the commencement of the webinar.
